Once you’ve created your Onsomble account, the next step is adding your first Site. A Site is the workspace for a single business website — see What is a Site? if you haven’t already. The wizard is short. You’ll be up and running in a couple of minutes, and ingestion will continue in the background while you keep setting things up.

Before you start

You’ll need two things handy:
  • The business’s website URL — the root domain is fine (e.g. https://yourbusiness.com). You don’t need to list individual pages.
  • A name for the Site — this is how the Site will appear in your dashboard. Keep it recognisable. Many agencies use the client’s business name verbatim.
If you’re setting up for a business that has two distinct brands on two different websites, create one Site per brand rather than trying to combine them. Their scans, competitors, and workflows will be cleaner that way.

Open the Site creation wizard

From your dashboard, click Add Site in the top-right. If this is your first Site, the wizard will open automatically after you confirm your account.

Enter the website URL

Paste or type the root URL of the business’s website. Onsomble will do a quick check that the URL is reachable and that the site is publicly accessible.If the check fails, double-check for typos, make sure the site isn’t behind a login wall, and confirm it isn’t blocking automated access.

Name the Site

Give the Site a short, recognisable name. This is what you’ll see in your dashboard and use to find the Site later.For agencies managing multiple clients, we recommend using the client’s business name as the Site name.

Confirm and create

Review the details and create the Site. Ingestion starts automatically.

What happens next

Once the Site is created, two things start in parallel:
  • Ingestion runs in the background. Onsomble crawls and processes the business’s website so it understands what the business does. See Ingesting your website for details on what this involves and how long it takes.
  • Your dashboard becomes scan-ready. You can start setting up a first scan straight away — Onsomble will refine its competitor and prompt suggestions once ingestion finishes.
You don’t need to wait for ingestion to complete before moving on. The first scan can be set up while ingestion is still running; it just won’t have the benefit of Onsomble’s website-informed suggestions until ingestion finishes.

Adding more Sites later

You can add more Sites at any time using the same wizard. There’s no limit on the creation flow itself — your plan determines how many Sites can be active at once. See Billing and plans for details.
