Getting Started
This guide will help you get started with Onsomble quickly. By the end, you’ll have created your first notebook and had your first AI-powered conversation.
This guide takes about 5 minutes to complete. No technical knowledge required!
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
- An Onsomble account (sign up here )
Creating Your First Notebook
Sign in to Onsomble
Go to app.onsomble.ai and sign in with your account.
Create a new notebook
From the dashboard, click the “New Notebook” button. Give your notebook a name that describes its purpose (e.g., “Research Project” or “Meeting Notes”).
Add your first source
Click “Add Source” and choose how you want to add content:
- Upload a file - PDFs, text files, and more
- Add a website - Paste any URL
- YouTube video - Add video transcripts
Wait for processing
Onsomble will process your source, extract the content, and generate embeddings for semantic search. This usually takes a few seconds to a minute depending on the file size.
You can add multiple sources to a single notebook. The AI will use all sources when answering your questions.
Starting Your First Conversation
Once you have sources in your notebook, you’re ready to chat!
Open the Chat panel
Click on the Chat tab or icon in your notebook view.
Ask a question
Type a question about your content. For example:
- “What are the main points in this document?”
- “Summarize the key findings”
- “What does this say about [specific topic]?”
Review the response
The AI will search your sources and provide a relevant answer. You’ll see citations showing which sources the answer came from.
Be specific with your questions! Instead of “What is this about?”, try “What are the three main recommendations in section 2?”
